Bramdagh Rejects Balochistan package, amnesty offers
and vows to liberate Balochistan

04.12.2009 :CaricaFoto(QUETTA- Baloch Republican Party chief Nawabzada Bramdagh Khan Bugti, while billing the Balochistan package as a
“conspiracy to undermine Baloch movement for independence”, has stressed upon the Baloch people to bring unity and solidarity among them to
accelerate the pace of Baloch movement for national liberation.

Talking to the media from unspecified location, the young Baloch guerrilla commander said that the ultimate destination of Baloch ongoing struggle was
not the achievement of so-called economic packages or concessions from the country’s federal government. In his words, the Baloch struggle is meant
to achieve complete independence of Balochistan.

“The real issue is the right of ownership on Balochs on their natural resources and government of Pakistan is hesitant to talk on this key issue”, he said

The BRP chief said that if government wished to continue its forceful control over Baloch resources then it was understandable why the state apparatus
was carrying on “genocide” of the Baloch people and thrusting the Baloch youth in torture cells.

He said that Baloch were looking towards international powers for intervention.

“The international powers should decide the ownership of Baloch resources and take notice of unprecedented economic and social exploitation of the
Baloch land for the past 62 years. We want justice on the basis of international standards prescribed for justice,” he asserted

The BRP President said that on the one hand the rulers continued to kill Baloch people while on the other hand they kept on announcing packages to
cheat international powers and present the Baloch as anti-development before the world community.

“Baloch wanted to make the rulers believe that they will not accept any concession as we look at these packages as conspiracies against the Baloch
struggle,”, remarked Brahamdagh Bugti.

Comparing the state of affairs in Balochistan during the previous regime and the present one, he said that there was no difference at all between
Musharraf and Zardari periods of government as the Baloch genocide was still continue in full swing. He strongly criticized those who were advocating
for Zardari and his party colleagues saying that Zardari’s intentions should not be questioned regarding Balochistan.

He said that if Baloch people accepted the same pretext of powerlessness of various leaders then former Chief Minister Jam Mir Yousaf and ex-home
Minister Shohib Nausherwani would also qualify as sincere but powerless leaders.

“The military operation is in full-swing in Dera Bugti, Sui and adjoining areas and a government Sardar in the area is is serving the interests of
intelligence agencies”, he charged.

Brahamdagh Bugti said that President Zardari and ex-President Musharraf were “equal criminals” for their crimes in the eyes of Baloch population.

He said that word “general amnesty” was ridiculous for Balochs because the state itself had unleashed excesses and cruelties. “We have never pleaded
for amnesty. Why should we be granted amnesty? What is our fault? The rulers are criminal as they launched the battle against the Balochs. They have
to beg the Balochs for amnesty. I am sure the Balochs will not forgive them for killing our great leaders and innocent civilians during the military
operation,” he thundered

Heated debate on Balochistan package likely
07.12.2009 By Amir Wasim
Monday, 07 Dec, 2009

ISLAMABAD: A heated debate on the recently-announced Balochistan package is likely in the joint session of the two houses of parliament which
begins here from Monday.

According to the adviser on parliamentary affairs, Izhar Amrohvi, the planned two-day session could be extended. Senate Chairman Farooq Naek will
preside over the session because National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza is in France on a five-day official visit. Mr Amrohvi said that sessions
could also be held in the evening to allow a maximum number of lawmakers to discuss Balochistan issues.

The Aghaz Huqooq-i-Balochistan package, which was presented on Nov 24 by Senator Raza Rabbani, includes various administrative, economic and
constitutional measures for the uplift of the people of the Balochistan.

However, a majority of Baloch leaders inside and outside parliament had rejected the package and criticised its incentives as inadequate. They have
demanded provincial autonomy and asked the government to take practical steps instead of making mere promises.
Political observers believe that Baloch leaders are likely to lash out at the government during the debate.

Dawn has learnt that the government has not yet decided how many members would be allowed to speak on the subject.
An official said the house business advisory committee, which has representation of all political parties, was expected to meet before the session
began to chalk out a plan for the debate.

The government, he said, was considering to allow only parliamentary leaders of political parties to speak on the matter, but it would be difficult for the
government to stop members, especially from Balochistan, from addressing the issue.
