According to sources, Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani has ordered withdrawal of cases registered against the politicians on various charges. Most of
the cases were of a political nature.

‘We have received the orders of the chief minister for withdrawal of the cases and a list of 89 cases has been sent to the law department for completing legal
formalities,’ a senior official of the home department told Dawn.

The cases have been withdrawn in connection with the Balochistan package unveiled by the federal government last month.

The sources said the government was considering withdrawal of other political cases registered by the Musharraf government.
