BSO MEMORANDUM Presented to Balochi Jirga
The Baloch Students Organization (BSO) is highly concerned with the
Balochi Jirga of Baloch elders called by the khan of Kalat, Khan Sulaiman
Dawood on 21st September, 2006 .BSO appreciates this long awaited
progress and hopes that any decision conducted by the Balochi Jirga will
be in accordance with the ideals and aspirations of Baloch People.
Since the forced amalgamation of the Balochistan into Pakistan on 27th
March 1948, thousands of Baloch have sacrificed their lives for the
restoration of the sovereignty of the Balochistan. The first movement was
led by Prince Abdul Karim within two weeks of the forced accession.
Today’s struggle for liberation, more organized than its predecessors, is a
continuation of prince karmin’s movement. The Baloch feel great pride on
heroes of national liberation struggle, from prince Karim, Nwab Nouroz
Khan to Shaheed Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, who bravely fought against the
Pakistani occupying forces to liberate motherland. But, unfortunately, at
the same time, the Baloch nation suffered a great deal at the hands of
some Baloch leaders who deliberately or un-deliberately tended to confuse
the Baloch national struggle for independence.
Their vague demand for " greater share" has had a negative and disastrous impact on the Baloch struggle
for total independency. The BSO observes that the subjective and objective conditions are completely in the
favor of the Baloch to achieve their goal of national independence. Any demand lesser than that of national will,
therefore, be regarded as a betrayal from the blood of Shaheed Nawab Akbar khan Bugti and other Baloch
martyrs who have laid their lives for the ideal of an independent Balochistan.

The Baloch demand for the right of self-determination is a legitimate demand and is in
complete accordance with the UN charters, as:

1- Balochistan had never been a part of the Indian sub-continent. On the contrary, she had her own
independent, sovereign stat recognized by Ottoman Turkey, Persia, the sultanate of Muskat-Oman and Durrani’
s Afghanistan.

2- The British government recognized the khanate of Balochistan as an independent state under the treaties of
1854 and 1876.

3- In 1947,Pakistan recognized the khanate of Balochistan as a sovereign state.
4- The Baloch were not represented in the famous
"Lahore Resolution " adopted by the All India Muslim
League aiming to form an independent state of Muslims of India in 1940

5-
Baloch people did not participate in the movement of Pakistan.

6- Balochistan’s accession to Pakistan was the result of the military action of the armed forces of Pakistan and
British intrigues. The Baloch were not given any right to determine their destiny.

In light of the above, the BSO expects from the Balochi Jirga to recommend:

1- Noting lesser than an independent and sovereign Balochistan will be acceptable to the Baloch.

2-
All the Baloch nationalist parties should abandon the Pakistani parliament at once and
from a
Baloch single party to respect the last wish of Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti.

3- All the inter-tribal disputes should be resolved in accordance with the Baloch culture traits; any individual,
tribe or a sub-tribe should not provide the Pakistan government with any opportunity to exploit such inter-tribal
disputes.

Let’s secure the future of our next generation

Yours faithfully

Bashir Zaib Baloch, Chairman ,
Baloch Students Organization .
