Justice is A Birthright of Human Beings, Dr Homi Wadia
Dear Friends, Peace and Love,
Humanity is slowly, but surely, dying in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The only country in the world that proclaim itself as an 'Islamic Republic,'
but has none of the values of the great religion, has one of the most ruthless
Military dictatorship in the world and is the most corrupt nation in the world. .
The trigger-happy, cruel, vicious and beastly Army, mainly from the largest
Pakistani province of Punjabi ovr thirty years ago suppressed, subjugated and
Strangled their brethrens in the East - carried out a campaign of rape and
torture - thereby creating Bangladesh.
Old habits never die. Today, they are doing they continue their brutal campaigns
against the civilized and peace-loving people of two other Provinces - Sindh
and Balochistan. They are savagely usurping the rights of Sindhis and Balochs,
arresting those who speak the truth and fight for their human rights, stuffing them
in dungeon-like prisons, without trial, without justice, and systematically
torture them, till they die. Those who do not die become either insane
Or vegetables.
Countless Sindhis and Balochs have been arrested by the Police and Army.
Three young Balochs, who dared to raise their voice against oppression,
tyrannical despotism and injustices, rape and torture of innocents have been
arrested by the corrupt and criminal Police of Pakistan. The three - Ali Nawaz,
Akhter Nadeem and Dr. Allah Nazar - are reportedly being held in a police
Station in the village of Chandar Maa, which is about 25km from the city
of Sadiq Abad, Punjab province - yes, the Punjabi Army arrest the innocents
and take them to Punjab, where they are imprisoned and tortured.
These three young men have been tortured mercilessly, so much that they
require medical treatment. The three, who are all are members of the Baloch
Students Organisation, a student body that campaigns for the rights of students,
had 'disappeared' since their arrest in Karachi on 25 March, along with four
others who were later released.
On 13 August they were produced before a court in the city of Sadiq Abad, Punjab,
with a concocted charges in relation to an alleged case of robbery. They were then
returned to the police station in the village of Chandar Maa, where they were able
to meet with their families for ten minutes. The families have reported that all three
men were tortured by Police using electric shocks.
There is particular concern for Dr. Allah Nazar who is partially paralyzed and
reportedly unable to speak or recognize anyone as result of being tortured.
His family have expressed concern that his injuries may result in complete
Paralysis unless he receives immediate medical treatment in hospital. However,
the authorities have reportedly denied the men access to medical treatment.
The men reportedly appeared again in front of the same court on 17 August in
relation to the alleged case of robbery and may possibly be handed over to
authorities in Balochistan in connection with another case. Should this
happen, there is a risk that they may 'disappear' or be subjected to further
ill-treatment and torture.
We strongly condemn this high-handedness, brutality and cruel savagery of the
Pakistani Police and Army and urge the International Human Rights
Organizations, Amnesty International and all those who value and cherish
Freedom and justice to censure Pakistan's Military Government and intervene in
the safe release of all the political prisoners, including these three, from the
Pakistani prisons and detention camps.
