QUETTA: Demonstrators took to the streets of Quetta and other cities in
Allover Balochistan to protest against a military operation in Balochistan,
witnesses and officials said. "Stop the military operation!" and "Down
with Musharraf"several hundred protesters chanted as they marched
through the capital of Balochistan province before gathering to listen to
speakers who criticised President Pervez Musharraf's government.

Paramilitary forces launched an operation on Sunday against separatist rebels in the gas-rich southwestern province. This
is the 5th military operation being carried out against Baloch people in Balochistan. A similar operation was carried out in
March 2005, in which 60 people mostly women and children died and more than 200 civilian were injured. Baloch people
are demanding that the resources that comes out of Balochistan should be used for Baloch people. They are also
demanding greater provincila autonomy.
